Annie is currently completing a Bachelor of Rural Science at the University of New England in Armidale. In her final year of studies, she is completing her honours thesis in chickpea stubble retention and disease and has a strong interest in sustainable productivity in farming systems. During her degree, she has completed professional experience at UTS and CSIRO, working on research projects in microbiology and pasture legume nutrition.
Annie has a long standing interest in research and development for food security, receiving a scholarship to attend the Crawford Fund’s conference on Ethics, Efficiency and Food Security during her first year of university studies. In 2016 Annie took the opportunity to participate in a study tour of Cambodian farming systems, enabling her to identify some of the key constraints that differ between farming systems in Cambodia and south eastern Australia.
